Proper inflation pressure for Dunlop Sport 9000 245/45 ZR17 tires? Recently bought a car with these tires on them, and I want to make sure they are properly inflated. It does not specify the inflation pressure on the tire, and I have not been able to find it online. Help? I'm sorry I should have been more specific. Also Dunlop has discontinued this model so I was unable to get the information from their website.

DONT SAY SLOW DOWN NEITHER!! BECAUSE one time I was in a two wheel drive (front wheel) car trying to gain momentum by going down a hill then going up a hill in very very icy snowy weather when there was a buffoon idiot 4*4 truck driver in front of me half way up the hill that was going 2 miles an hour. Of course he broke my momentum and I was ended up almost stranded barely making up the steep hill. And dont blame me for not owning a 4*4 they suck more gas. Another good example of driving safe is owning a manual transmission instead of a much more dangerous automatic transmission. The manual has more torque drivability and much much more.

Bike tire inflation? Hi, I have a racing bike with 700c tires (120 psi max) and the tubes packaging say not to inflate with a compressor. I have a hand pump but no way can I get that high, I can't even get it high enough for a proper ride (it's an old pump). So I was wondering, why does my tube packaging say not to pump with an air compressor? Is there a special reason and what would happen if I do? I need to put air in my tire and don't feel like buying a expensive air pump. Thanks, Bryan

How does nitrogen violate PV=nRT? According to: http://www.woodalls.com/cforum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/14872995.cfm it is supposed to be true that: Nitrogen is a totally inert gas and does not expand or contract with temperature. So if your tires were inflated to their proper inflation pressure at installation, say 100 psi, then they will be 100 psi at 30 degrees and 100 psi at 115 degrees. The added bonus with Nitrogen is there is no moisture in your tires."

How do I get better gas mileage out of my Pontiac? I have a '98 Sunfire that I'm not happy with, and didn't choose. None the less, I'm stuck with it, and if that's going to be the case, it's going to have to provide better fuel economy than it currently is. The tires are unmatched, but all in good condition and proper inflation. One is new. Do I need to get a new matching set? Will the difference be noticeable? I took it in for a tune up and they supposedly replaced the plugs, oil and filters. I personally replaced the spark plug wires. Do I need to get anything fancy like a better intake or one of those "whirlpool" things that go inside the intake? Do you all recommend a new muffler, as I'm driving with the original? Thanks much! It's getting something totally unacceptable, like 10 MPG or under. I'm about to trade it in for a hybrid- never mind that I'll owe on a car note!
Suggestions for increasing gas mileage? I have a 2007 Ford Fusion 4-cyl. I have to drive for my job, sometimes in excess of 500 miles/week. What can I do to increase my MPG. I already do the following. Slowed down (i used to go 5-8 mph above the speed limit, now I got 1 or 2 mph below) Have my tires checked every 3000 miles for proper alignment/inflation Remove all excess weight from the car Use cruise as much as possible Bring my lunch with me when traveling, rather than driving to restaurants or going home when I'm still in town. Only run the AC on the lowest setting (fan speed 1, with coldness at about 1/4 of max) Never run Max A/C My MPG has gone from 27ish to 30ish, but I'm looking for any additional tips. I can't really reduce the amount of miles I drive, unfortunately. Should I use the cabin air recycle option on my AC, or continue to pull in air from outside Should I have the windows opened or closed at certain speeds Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
