Tips for fuel-efficient driving? I drive a Mitsubishi Carisma (petrol automatic) to work which is about 150 miles to and fro. Any tips to save on fuel? (I drive mostly on the motorway, and in London too)
What is the most fuel efficient car in the Philippine market? Toyota Vios? Honda Jazz? Kia Picanto? others? i drive quite conservative so that i don't waste gas... i just wanna know what you think is the best car that would best complement fuel-efficient driving in the streets of Metro Manila. 10 points to the most convincing answer. no emo answers on high gas prices or fanboy support answers that degrade other cars. it would be nice if there are figures that support your answer.
What is a more efficient way of traveling, by airplane or by car? I always assumed it used less gasoline per person in an airplane, however I recently was talking to someone who claimed it is much more fuel efficient to drive in a car. Thinking about it, it kind of makes sense that a car would use less because there is so much less energy involved in driving on a surface than keeping yourself up. So is a car really more efficient than an airplane? Thanks!
What is a good design for an efficient inertia driven vehicle? I need any kind of small contraption driven by inertia, it must weigh less than 500 grams and must be powered solely by an inertia driven mechanism. No springs or catapults or anything else allowed, needs to travel fast and far. Thanks It can't have a flywheel. It can only have rubber bands and floating weight to drive it.
What is the most fuel efficient car available? Just like every other place in America, gas prices suck. I do a lot of driving and traveling, think its finally time to get a more fuel efficient car. I drive a ford fusion, now; and it gets almost 30mpg, which is good. However, I am looking to better that. thanks!
What are some ideas to make a university campus more energy-efficient? I'm interested in specific low-cost solutions to reduce energy-consumption and make my university campus "greener". So far, I've got: - reducing fuels wasted by trucks importing various foods sold at eateries around campus by buying local produce or even growing vegetation on campus - eliminate shuttle buses and replace with hybrid buses with cost offset by increasing parking price for those who drive fuel-efficient cars. Are there any other good ideas? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Does the government need to step in and force our car manufacturers to make more fuel efficient cars? Overall the free market system does pretty good most of the time. But everything has weaknesses that must be adjusted. Free market economics has failed miserably in getting cars to be more fuel efficient. Consumers do not make good choices, but continue driving low mileage cars. And irresponsible corporations continue making them. There is no rational reason to manufacture any new passenger cars that get less than 35 miles per gallon starting June 1, 2008.
