why should people stop driving muscle cars and start driving more fuel efficient cars?

  1. why should they, if they are like me, I only drive it once a month. the rest of the time I'm on my 50mpg Harley! :)
  2. 1. Individually: Gasoline is expensive. The more you burn, the more it's going to cost you. 2. Society: There's a limited supply of gasoline, and it can be extracted only at a limited rate. The quicker it's burned, the quicker it's gone. It'll be a shame when it's gone because petroleum has so many other uses, such as in the making of plastics.
  3. drive what you want. thats like telling someone not to eat fast food because its fattening.
  4. Because this is 2006, not 1988. I hear muscle car and I think big meat head in sleeveless t-shirt and a pair of cut-offs. Yuck. Oh, yeah, and to save the environment.
  5. I drive a muscle car because it is safer. It weighs 3800 pounds. I would rather live and spend more in gas than to die a terrible death being crushed in a japanese beer can. I have been in two accidents in my big american muscle car and walked away from both. One car was totaled, the other heavily damaged, but I was OK and insurance paid for everything. Don't risk your life for 30mpg. They are fun too, just stab the gas and zoom upto traffic speeds before you have to merge, it is a lot safer.
  6. I drive mine as a second car, probably less than 1000 miles a year. And it gets 13mpg. So what. I can afford it. The real problem here isn't the muscle cars, it's all of the cars that are out of tune. My car is b uilt for performance and maintained as such. It's cars that never get tuned up, filters and fluids changed, and general maintenance that are wasting gas. My car extracts every last bit of power out of the gas that it uses while a lot of other cars are so inefficient and the owners don't even know it. Stop looking at the people who maintain their cars and concentrate on people who don't care about their cars, those are the real problem.
  7. Muscle cars : what a fuel-wasting crap. if they were that good then why they were sold only in the united states?
