what is the most efficient way to transfer torque ? the belt drive or the shaft drive?
in a motorcycle is the most efficient way to transfer torque ? I mind talking about speed.

- shaft drive any chain or belt has stretch or looses torque
- A belt is more efficient than a shaft. Every time you change the direction of rotation you lose energy. That is one reason why no race bikes use shaft drive.
- the belt has the least friction of the three types chain offers the most gear ratio's for racing and the shaft has a jacking effect on the suspension which is undesirable for racing
- shafts dont slip but the gears of the others can be changed for more torque
- the belt is probably more efficient. But the shaft is far more reliable when the torque gets tuff.... I have witnessed two times when the Belt left the bike under hard acceleration...
- Belt drive gets more hp to the ground
