  1. For the most part Gman cars are Crown Vics. Ford makes them. You can read all about them on Wiki...
  2. Most agency's in the U.S. use either the Ford Crown Victoria or the Chevy Caprice. The Crown Vic has what is called the "Interceptor" package. You will find this marking on the back of the car just below the trunk lid. It is a small plaque about 1" tall and 3" long, that says "Interceptor". The package usually contains, a stiffer suspension, high performance engine, better tires. Some smaller departments or ones on a budget will stick with the Chevy Caprices, but they are getting old and worn. Some agency's have started to go with the Dodge Charger. In California some agency's have used the 5.0 litre Mustang, Chevy Camaro, Chevy Blazer, or Ford Expedition. Some agency's even use cars that have been seized from drug dealers. Agency's have the discretion to outfit their cars anyway they want. Some use low profile light bars, some put in computers, gun racks, etc. Most agency's buy their cars in bulk, so they are able to get a good price. Our county buys a majority of their cars this way. They may do it every 3 years or so, and buy not only the police cars, but cars for every dept. in the county.
