Whats the cheapest and most gas efficient car i can drive to the mountain for snowboard season?

im 15 turning 16 and want to drive this season for snowboarding. im driving up mt hood in oregon. what car should i buy? I wanna stay in the $10,000 range if possible il get either 2 or 4 wheel drive and not gas guzzling thank you

1. Look for an older Subaru, or any Japanese Front wheel drive car. When driving in snow, your tires are the most important thing, so get four dedicated winter tires, mount them on extra rims and change over before the winter, this will keep you as safe as possible. Mazda is as reliable as Honda or Toyota but in the used market they tend to be less expensive.
